Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Beauregard Parish Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message is retained so a response can be prepared. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive certain technical details when a visitor loads a page, including:
- The referring website, when one is available
- Page-view times and time spent on visited pages
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages receive visits and where visitors leave. Browser controls can block cookies, although disabling them may change how parts of the website operate.
What We Do With This Data
Information collected through normal use may support these functions:
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Operating the website and improving load performance
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
- Routing a submitted search to the appropriate outside provider
- Understanding which pages visitors use most
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Beauregard Parish Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It provides general directions to records held by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff, the 36th Judicial District Court and Clerk, the Louisiana State Police BCII-LCJIS repository, and the Louisiana State Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or criminal-history files about other people.
Louisiana's Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et seq., governs qualifying public records held by government custodians. Criminal-history dissemination is separately limited by La. R.S. 15:587. Those laws do not turn this private website into the official custodian of Beauregard Parish or Louisiana records.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a search tool is subject to that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Beauregard Parish Sheriff, court portals, Louisiana agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you follow a link away from this website, the destination's privacy rules apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across websites for targeted advertising. We do not control that outside tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be available to:
- Advertising networks that serve advertisements
- Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal order
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process a query you submit
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security measures are used to protect information in our control. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, however. We take reasonable precautions but cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor provided personal data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may differ based on where you live and the law that applies. You may ask us to:
- Stop certain forms of data processing
- Correct inaccurate personal information in our control
- Delete personal data we hold about you
- Provide a copy of personal information we maintain about you
The Louisiana Public Records Law applies to governmental custodians, not to this private site's visitor data. La. R.S. 15:587 limits how specified Louisiana criminal-history information may be disseminated, but it does not make this website a state criminal-history repository.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A changed version will be posted here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
